H51S-1574: A seamless approach to improve climate information for water security
Rainfall is the major source of fresh water over many parts of the globe, especially in developing countries where large-scale irrigation is not economically feasible. Large uncertainty in predicting and projecting rainfall changes from seasonal to centennial time scales is a major source of uncertainty for global water security in the near and long-term future. Improving the prediction skills of rainfall variability and change has been proven to be challenging...

A13J-2591: Shallow-deep convective transition: regional differences between the Congo and Amazon basin
Owing to the recent droughts over the Amazon and Congo basin, we are investigating the shallow to deep convective transition mechanism to understand the influences of humidity, wind shear, and aerosols on the wet season onset. We use TERRA MODIS, MERRA-2, measurements from A-train satellites (such as CloudSat, AIRS, Cloud-Aerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization or CALIPSO, and AURA Micro-limb sounder),Global Precipitation Measurement (...
